Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong points out the major issue of PVF-CAND in V-League

PVF-CAND lost 0-1 to Nam Dinh in the closing moments. Following the game, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong admitted the team's hardships and called on his students not to give up in the fight to stay in the league.

After the 0-1 loss to Nam Dinh in round 15 of V-League 2025/26, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong frankly recognized PVF-CAND's challenges, while urging his players to maintain their spirit and continue fighting in the relegation race.

At home, PVF-CAND played with great effort and organized a solid defense against Nam Dinh's continuous pressure. However, a late goal in the 89th minute by defender Lucas Alves left PVF-CAND empty-handed and dropped them to the bottom of the standings.

Sharing after the match, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong emphasized the importance of every point at this stage of the season. “Our view is that every point at this moment is extremely crucial. As you saw, the players tried their utmost. They competed with the best possible spirit,” the PVF-CAND coach said.

According to Mr. Thanh Cong, the team conceding a goal at the end of the match partly reflects the inexperience of the young players. He noted that many players in the team are first-time participants in V-League, so they are still unfamiliar with the harsh environment of Vietnam's top football league.

“I myself cannot blame the players, as most of them are playing in V-League for the first time. They are still quite unfamiliar and do not fully understand the league's severity. Therefore, their mentality and competitive composure are not yet truly stable,” he shared.

Nevertheless, this coach believes that the experiences from the past half-season will help the players mature. He trusts that if they improve their match mentality, PVF-CAND still has opportunities to improve their position on the table.

“More than half of the season's journey has passed, and the players have experienced the harshness of V-League. I think they themselves must rebuild their mentality and competitive courage,” he added.

After the match, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong also advised his students to keep their faith even though the situation is very difficult. “I told the players that in any circumstance we must not let go and must not collapse. No matter how tough it gets, we must fight until the final stretch,” he affirmed.

The coach of PVF-CAND also assessed that the team's foreign players basically fit the playing style, though they still need more time to adapt to V-League. According to him, their experience will be a key factor helping the team overcome the current difficult phase.
